*90% of Medical Services Should Be Available Within District Hospitals: Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha*
*Sangareddy, May 30:* Telangana Health Minister *Damodar Rajanarasimha* has directed officials to ensure that nearly 90 percent of medical services are provided within government hospitals in the district itself, minimizing the need to refer patients to hospitals outside the district except in unavoidable emergency cases.
The Minister reviewed the functioning of the Health Department along with District Collector *Prateek Jain* at a meeting held in the mini conference hall of the Collectorate on Saturday. The review covered outpatient and inpatient services, deliveries, specialty healthcare services, major surgeries, available infrastructure, additional requirements, and the progress of Digital Health Cards.
Addressing the officials, the Minister said that the state government is giving top priority to providing quality healthcare services and strengthening public confidence in government hospitals. He stressed the need for continuous improvement in healthcare facilities and service standards.
“Medical staff must make effective use of the available infrastructure and ensure timely and quality treatment for every patient,” he said.
The Minister also instructed officials to ensure that all girls aged 14 to 15 years in the district receive the *HPV (Human Papillomavirus) vaccine*. He called for coordinated efforts involving the Education Department, Welfare Department, women’s groups, and Health Department staff to achieve complete vaccination coverage among eligible girls.
Noting that construction of the *Kankol and Singitam Primary Health Centres (PHCs)* and the *Sangareddy Nursing College* has been completed, the Minister directed officials to make all necessary arrangements for their inauguration at the earliest.
During the meeting, Government General Hospital (GGH) Superintendent *Dr. Anil Kumar* informed the Minister about the need for an additional CT Scanner at the hospital. The Minister directed officials to immediately submit proposals for its sanction.
Officials also informed the Minister that only nine *RBSK (Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram)* teams are currently functioning in the district and requested three additional teams. The Minister instructed them to submit proposals for the same.
Rajanarasimha emphasized that all wings of the Health Department should work in close coordination to provide efficient and accessible healthcare services to the public.
Additional Collectors *Sangeetha* and *Pandu, GGH Superintendent **Dr. Anil Kumar*, health officials, doctors from area hospitals, programme officers, and other concerned officials attended the review meeting.
