All Departments Must Work in Coordination to Accelerate Development and Welfare Programmes– Telangana Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha

Telangana Minister for Medical and Health Damodar Rajanarasimha stated that the government’s priority is to ensure that people receive better healthcare, education, drinking water, agriculture, revenue, and welfare services. He directed officials of all departments to work in close coordination so that development and welfare programmes are implemented efficiently and their benefits reach every citizen.

On Friday, the Minister, along with District Collector Prateek Jain, chaired a review meeting at the Grievance Hall of the Collectorate. During the meeting, he conducted a comprehensive review of the progress of various development and welfare programmes being implemented in the district by the Medical & Health, Education, Irrigation, Drinking Water, Agriculture, Revenue, and Women & Child Welfare Departments.

Reviewing healthcare services in the district, the Minister expressed serious concern over the incident at Jogipet Area Hospital, where an unauthorized individual reportedly worked in place of the duty doctor. He directed the District Coordinator of Health Services (DCHS) and hospital superintendents to take strict action to prevent such incidents in the future and to ensure continuous monitoring of doctors’ attendance and performance.

The Minister instructed officials to make necessary arrangements for the inauguration of the Primary Health Centres (PHCs) at Kankol and Singitam, and to expedite the construction of PHC buildings at Bardipur, Sultanpur, and Neradigunta.

He also reviewed the district’s preparedness to control seasonal diseases and sought details regarding cases of dengue, malaria, chikungunya, and other infectious diseases. Officials were directed to take preventive measures in advance and ensure that all government hospitals are adequately equipped with medicines, medical equipment, and essential infrastructure.

The Minister instructed the concerned authorities to take steps for the early inauguration of the Sangareddy Nursing College, Patancheru Super Speciality Hospital, and Zaheerabad Mother and Child Health (MCH) Centre. He also directed the Superintendent of Sangareddy Government General Hospital (GGH) to ensure the continuous availability of essential equipment and medicines and to maintain close supervision.

In the education sector, the Minister stressed the need to strengthen infrastructure, particularly in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs) and Model Schools, so that students receive better facilities. He also instructed the District Collector to give priority to drinking water, drainage, and sanitation facilities in PHCs, Anganwadi Centres, Government Schools, KGBVs, Model Schools, and Zilla Parishad High Schools (ZPHS).

He emphasized that students residing in government welfare hostels should be provided with quality accommodation and all necessary amenities to ensure a healthy learning environment. He also reviewed details of welfare hostels currently functioning in rented buildings.

Reviewing the issue of issuing new ration cards, the Minister informed officials that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is scheduled to visit Sangareddy district on August 15 and directed them to make comprehensive arrangements for the distribution of new ration cards during the visit.

The Minister also reviewed the district’s drinking water supply situation and sought details on the current water levels in the Manjeera and Singur projects, as well as water supply through the Borancha and Bhusareddypalli Intake Wells.

He instructed officials to realistically assess the district’s drinking water availability and prepare a comprehensive action plan in advance to tackle any possible shortage if adequate rainfall is not received. He emphasized that proactive measures should be taken to ensure uninterrupted drinking water supply to the public.

The meeting was attended by Additional Collectors Sangeetha and Pandu, Sub-Collector Uma Harathi, Revenue Divisional Officers, and officials from various departments.
