480 Indiramma Houses Allotted Through Transparent Lottery in Nampally

Hyderabad, August 28: The Telangana government has allotted 480 Indiramma houses (CURE LIG/MIG flats) in the Nampally Assembly constituency through a transparent lottery system, State Revenue, Housing and Information Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said on Friday.

The Minister participated in the lottery held at Nampally Vets Garden along with Nampally MLA Majid Hussain, Housing MD Gautam and Hyderabad District Collector Dr Priyanka Ala. He said the government’s objective is to provide dignified housing to every eligible poor family without political influence, recommendations or middlemen.

Online applications were invited for the flats, and the lottery was conducted in the presence of beneficiaries. A total of 600 names were drawn for 480 flats, with 480 beneficiaries selected for allotment and 120 placed on the waiting list. Officials will conduct field-level verification of eligibility, residential status and other details before issuing final selection certificates.

The Minister said the prescribed reservation policy is being followed, with 67 flats for SCs, 24 for STs, 77 for BCs, 240 under the General category, 48 for government/outsourcing employees and 24 for persons with disabilities.

Under the CURE initiative, the government has sanctioned one lakh houses across constituencies. Around 480 houses are being taken up in each constituency in the first phase. Government land has been identified and tenders finalized in 16 constituencies, while site identification and tender processes are underway in four more constituencies.

Ponguleti said multi-storeyed housing complexes with lifts would be constructed on government land so that poor families can continue living in Hyderabad without being displaced from their livelihoods. Each flat will have approximately 525 square feet of built-up area, along with an undivided land share of 17 to 20 square yards.

The Minister said the flats would be registered in the name of the female beneficiary, with no registration charges. He added that beneficiaries would have property rights as per government regulations, including the option to use the property for future financial needs after the prescribed period.

Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy stressed that the allotment process is based solely on eligibility and is being carried out above caste, religion and political considerations. He said the allocation of 480 flats in Nampally is only the beginning, with more housing to be developed in subsequent phases based on the availability of government land and construction feasibility.
