CM Revanth Reddy Visits Oxford University, Invites Collaboration with Telangana
Hyderabad, August 22: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy visited the historic Oxford University in the United Kingdom on Friday as part of the Telangana Rising delegation. He held discussions with Professor Maya Tudor of the Blavatnik School of Government and Professor Faisal Devji of Balliol College on strengthening academic and research collaboration between Oxford and Telangana.
The Chief Minister presented the Telangana Rising vision and outlined plans to transform Hyderabad into a global education hub. He invited Oxford University to bring its executive education programmes, specialised research capabilities and academic ecosystem to Hyderabad by establishing a centre in the city.
K. Ramakrishna Rao, Advisor and Ex-officio Special Chief Secretary, CMO, made a detailed presentation on opportunities available to foreign universities under the Central government’s National Education Policy, highlighting the advantages of establishing institutions and programmes in Hyderabad and Telangana. Oxford representatives responded positively and discussed potential areas of collaboration.

Invitation to Telangana Rising Global Summit
The Telangana delegation also invited Oxford representatives to participate in the Telangana Rising Global Summit, scheduled to be held in Hyderabad on December 7, 8 and 9, 2026. The delegation highlighted the summit as an important platform for global institutions to explore investment and collaboration opportunities in Telangana.
CM Visits Indira Gandhi Portrait at Somerville College
Revanth Reddy later visited Somerville College, where he paid his respects at the portrait of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, an alumna of the college. The portrait was gifted to Somerville College by Sonia Gandhi in 2002.
Discussions on World-Class Sports Infrastructure
Later in the day, the Chief Minister visited the Utilita Bowl, operated by the GMR Group, along with Kiran Kumar Grandhi, Corporate Chairman of GMR Group. The integrated sporting facility includes a golf course, other sports infrastructure and a hotel.
