BRS Launches Statewide Campaign Against Congress Government’s “1,000-Day Betrayal”
KTR Calls for Week-Long Protests and Innovative Programmes from September 2
Hyderabad: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has announced a statewide campaign against the Congress government as it completes 1,000 days in office, accusing it of failing to fulfil its election promises.
BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) directed party leaders and cadre to organise week-long protests and innovative programmes across Telangana from September 2. He called upon the party organisation to take what it described as the Congress government’s failures to every village, ward and constituency.
During a teleconference with senior leaders, elected representatives and state committee members, KTR alleged that the Congress came to power by making 420 promises, 13 declarations and six guarantees, assuring people that they would be implemented within 100 days.
However, he claimed that even after 1,000 days, the government had failed to fully implement even a single major promise. He accused the Congress government of administrative failures, corruption and poor governance and urged BRS workers to explain these issues to the public.
‘Baaki Cards’ to Highlight Pending Promises
KTR directed the party to revive its “Baaki Cards” campaign to highlight benefits and financial assistance that were allegedly promised but remain pending. The cards will focus on commitments made to farmers, agricultural labourers, senior citizens, women, students and youth.
He also alleged that more than ₹12,000 crore in fee reimbursement dues remain pending. KTR called upon BRS leaders to take the issue to colleges and highlight its impact on students and their families.
Special Programmes for Different Sections
The BRS leader called for separate programmes targeting women, farmers, auto drivers, youth, students, Dalits, BCs, tribals, government employees and retired employees.
He said the programmes should focus on the specific problems faced by each section rather than following a uniform format. Party leaders should meet people directly and explain what BRS describes as the gap between Congress promises and their implementation.
KTR stressed that the campaign should cover not only unfulfilled promises but also what he described as the government’s failures during its first 100 days and throughout its 1,000-day tenure.
Focus on Social Media and Youth
KTR asked the party to use social media extensively to reach younger voters. He called for innovative digital campaigns and communication strategies to highlight the alleged failures of the Congress government.
He directed MPs, MLAs, MLCs, general secretaries, constituency in-charges, former public representatives and leaders at all levels to participate in the campaign.
The BRS Working President urged party workers to organise programmes at constituency, mandal, village and ward levels and ensure that the campaign reaches people at the grassroots across Telangana.
