Honorable Minister Mohammad Azharuddin Participates in Assumption of Charge Ceremony of Telangana Women’s Commission Chairperson

Hyderabad, May 21:

Hon’ble Telangana Minister for Public Enterprises and Minorities Welfare, Mohammad Azharuddin participated in the official assumption of charge ceremony of Gadwal Vijayalakshmi as the Chairperson of the Telangana State Women’s Commission at Buddha Bhavan, Tank Bund, Hyderabad.

Recently appointed Women’s Commission Member Uzma Shakir also formally assumed charge alongside Chairperson Gadwal Vijayalakshmi and other newly appointed members of the commission.

Former Hyderabad Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi was formally appointed as the Chairperson of the Telangana State Women’s Commission after approval by the Chief Secretary of the Telangana Government. She will serve in the prestigious constitutional position for a period of five years. Along with the Chairperson, six newly appointed members also took charge, with representation being given to families of Telangana movement martyrs and women activists committed to social justice and public welfare.

Minister Mohammad Azharuddin congratulated Chairperson Gadwal Vijayalakshmi and Member Uzma Shakir on assuming their responsibilities and expressed confidence that the Women’s Commission would work effectively for the protection of women’s rights, empowerment, justice, and welfare across Telangana.

The ceremony witnessed the presence of public representatives, officials, women activists, and supporters who extended their wishes to the newly appointed Chairperson and members of the commission.
