Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudarshan Reddy has directed district Collectors to ensure that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls is completed in a systematic and transparent manner, while safeguarding the voting rights of every eligible elector.

The CEO held a video conference with district Collectors and reviewed the progress of the SIR process, including the draft electoral rolls, claims and objections. He instructed officials to dispose of all claims and objections received against the draft voter list within the prescribed deadline.

During the review, it was informed that notices have been issued in Jagtial district to 40,683 unmapped voters and 1.75 lakh voters identified with anomalies. Officials were directed to follow the prescribed procedures while verifying the details and ensure that no eligible voter is deprived of their right to vote.

Jagtial Collector B. Satya Prasad, IAS, participated in the video conference and reviewed the SIR-related activities in the district. The CEO stressed that officials should maintain accuracy in the electoral rolls and take every necessary step to protect the rights of voters throughout the revision process.
