Hyderabad, August 19, 2026 (Patriotic Views): Attapur Police have recovered 25 stolen and lost mobile phones worth approximately ₹2 lakh with the help of the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal and handed them back to their rightful owners.

Attapur Police traced the devices using the CEIR system, which helps authorities block and track mobile phones reported lost or stolen. Following the successful recovery, the complainants were called to Attapur Police Station and the devices were handed over after proper verification.

Inspector of Police and SHO, Attapur Police Station, A. Seethaiah, personally handed over the recovered mobile phones to the owners. The recipients expressed their happiness and thanked the Attapur Police team for its prompt efforts in tracing and recovering their lost property.

Speaking on the occasion, SHO A. Seethaiah urged citizens to immediately report lost or stolen mobile phones and block the device through the CEIR portal. He said that blocking the IMEI number helps prevent the misuse of the device and assists police in tracking and recovering mobile phones.

He advised citizens to use the CEIR facility at ceir.sancharsaathi.gov.in or approach the nearest police station without delay in case of a lost or stolen mobile phone.

Detective Inspector Raju Nayak, along with the Crime Staff of Attapur Police Station, was present during the handover programme. The recovery highlights the role of technology and coordinated police efforts in helping citizens recover valuable personal property.
