Speed Up Distribution of SIR Notices, Sangareddy Collector Directs Officials

Sangareddy, August 29: Sangareddy District Collector Prateek Jain has directed officials to speed up the distribution of notices to voters included in the unmapped and anomaly lists as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

The Collector instructed officials to ensure that an acknowledgement is obtained from every voter after delivering the notice.

On Saturday, Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudarshan Reddy conducted a video conference from Hyderabad with district Collectors and senior officials to review the progress of the SIR process. The meeting focused on the distribution of notices to voters in the unmapped and anomaly categories and the hearing process.

The CEO directed officials to seek the cooperation of representatives of recognised political parties to ensure the successful completion of the SIR exercise. EROs and AEROs were asked to provide regular guidance to Booth Level Officers and ensure that the electoral rolls are prepared transparently and without errors.

Participating in the video conference from the Sangareddy Collectorate, Collector Prateek Jain informed the CEO that the SIR process was being conducted in the district in a systematic and transparent manner, following all Election Commission guidelines and rules.

After the video conference, the Collector reviewed the progress of the SIR process constituency-wise. He directed EROs to treat the distribution of notices as a top priority and accelerate the process.

Officials were instructed to focus on the field level and deliver the maximum possible number of notices to concerned voters every day, while obtaining mandatory acknowledgements. The Collector also directed officials to monitor the progress of notice distribution daily at polling-station and mandal levels.

Areas where a large number of notices remain pending should be identified and given special attention so that the remaining notices can be delivered at the earliest, he said.

Prateek Jain further instructed officials to ensure that every stage of the SIR process is carried out strictly according to the rules and in a transparent manner, while ensuring that eligible voters do not face any difficulties.

Additional Collector Sangeetha, EROs, AEROs, election department officials, Tahsildars and other officials participated in the video conference.
