Hyderabad Police Arrest 11 Fake Doctors for Practising Without Recognised Qualifications
Hyderabad, August 25: Hyderabad police have arrested 11 people who allegedly posed as qualified doctors and treated patients without recognised medical qualifications or valid professional credentials.
The arrests were made following raids at several locations across the city based on credible information about individuals allegedly practising medicine illegally.
According to police, the accused were operating clinics despite not holding recognised medical degrees. They allegedly diagnosed patients, prescribed medicines, administered injections and provided antibiotics without the required qualifications.
Police said some of the suspects allegedly used fake certificates to convince patients that they were qualified medical practitioners. Investigators also found that certain accused persons allegedly used the names of reputed super-speciality hospitals to gain the confidence of patients.
During searches of the clinics, police teams reportedly recovered fake letterheads, unauthorised medicines and medical equipment. The recovered material is being examined as part of the ongoing investigation.
Patient Safety Concerns
The case has raised serious concerns over patient safety, as treatment by unqualified practitioners can result in incorrect diagnoses, improper medication, unsafe injections and other potentially serious complications.
Police have urged residents to verify a doctor’s educational qualifications, registration and professional credentials before seeking treatment.
Authorities said strict action will be taken against individuals found practising medicine without the required qualifications. Investigators are also examining whether the accused operated clinics at multiple locations and whether others assisted them.
The investigation is continuing, and police are working to determine the full extent of the alleged illegal medical activities.
