Revanth Reddy Has Turned Into a Licensed Land Grabber: BRS MLC Dr. Dasoju Sravan
Hyderabad: 8 Jan 2026 (Patriotic Views Daily)
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC Dr. Dasoju Sravan on Sunday launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing his government of attempting to sell university lands and behaving like a real estate mafia.
Addressing a press conference at Telangana Bhavan, Dr. Sravan strongly objected to the move to alienate educational institution lands, especially when the Chief Minister himself holds the education portfolio. He termed the move “deplorable, unethical, and anti-people.”
Dr. Sravan alleged that Revanth Reddy is personally involved in what he called “licensed land loot,” aimed at taking control of thousands of acres under the pretext of development. He said the reported attempt to grab 50 acres belonging to Maulana Azad National Urdu University was shameful and unacceptable. He further claimed that notices were even issued to lands belonging to ISB, reflecting the government’s real-estate-driven approach.
Questioning the Chief Minister’s leadership, Dr. Sravan said that if Revanth Reddy cannot govern the state without selling university lands, he should step down immediately. “Anyone else in his place can run the state better. A person who targets university lands is unfit to be the Chief Minister,” he asserted.
Raising serious concerns, the BRS leader asked whether the decision to sell university lands was ever discussed in the Cabinet or if the Chief Minister was acting unilaterally. He described the move as a direct attack on the education system and warned that “playing with Goddess Saraswathi” would never be forgiven by the people.
Dr. Sravan also questioned the Congress party’s claims of supporting minorities, asking why it remains silent on issues affecting the Urdu language and Urdu students. He called upon the Muslim community to unite and oppose what he described as an injustice.
Listing BRS demands, Dr. Sravan said:
The notice issued to the Urdu University must be withdrawn immediately.
The Chief Minister and Ministers must stop all real estate dealings.
BRS will stand firmly with students and the Urdu University, just as it did during the Kanche–Gachibowli land issue.
Selling university lands is fundamentally wrong; if required, the government should sell land elsewhere but not touch educational institutions.
The Urdu University, which runs 26 academic departments, already lacks sufficient land, and the government should allocate at least ₹1,000 crore for its development.
Concluding, Dr. Dasoju Sravan warned that at a time when education and future generations should be the top priority, any attempt to encroach upon university lands would never be accepted by the people of Telangana.
