Congress Government Will Turn Big Dreams into Reality, Says Uttam Kumar Reddy

Hyderabad, September 17, 2025 (Patriotic Views):
Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister Capt. N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Wednesday said the Congress government in Telangana is not only capable of dreaming big but is equally determined to turn every dream into reality. Speaking at the Praja Palana Dinothsavam celebrations held at Ranga Reddy District Collectorate, he emphasized that the government’s strong record since coming to power stands as proof of its commitment.

“We began fulfilling our promises within 48 hours of assuming office. Telangana itself was once just a dream, made reality through decades of struggle and sacrifice in 2014. Likewise, every dream we are presenting to the people today will be realized soon. We are already implementing them,” Uttam Kumar Reddy said, stressing that the Congress government believes in action over delay.

He pointed out that under the leadership of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, the government quickly launched several welfare programs. Within two days of forming the government, key schemes were operational across the state. Free bus travel for women under the Mahalakshmi scheme benefitted lakhs of women, subsidized LPG cylinders were provided at Rs 500, the Gruha Jyothi scheme offered 200 units of free electricity to families, the Aarogyasri scheme coverage was increased to Rs 10 lakh, new ration cards were distributed, and crop loans up to Rs 2 lakh were waived.

Specifically in Ranga Reddy district, the impact was substantial. Over 33.66 crore zero-fare tickets were issued to women passengers, saving them Rs 1,462 crore. A total of 2.11 lakh families received 8.28 lakh subsidized LPG cylinders worth Rs 24.79 crore. Under Indiramma Housing, 17,440 houses were sanctioned with Rs 71.89 crore transferred to beneficiaries. The Gruha Jyothi scheme benefited 3.25 lakh households with Rs 154.77 crore in subsidies. Under Aarogyasri, 70,336 patients underwent surgeries worth Rs 177.86 crore. Additionally, 51,874 new ration cards were issued, and 1.26 lakh farmers were relieved of Rs 769.53 crore in loans through four phases.

“These numbers reflect the seriousness of our government towards welfare delivery. Every rupee spent strengthens the foundation of families, farmers, and workers,” the Minister said.

Uttam Kumar Reddy further highlighted ambitious projects poised to transform Telangana’s economic landscape, particularly in Ranga Reddy district. At the core was the Bharat Future City project planned on 30,000 acres. Envisioned as a world-class hub, it will include AI City, Pharma City, Life Sciences hubs, and Super Cities. “This will be a game-changer for Telangana, blending heritage with modernity, positioning Ranga Reddy alongside Hyderabad, Secunderabad, and Hitech City as India’s most liveable and innovative urban centers,” he said. A Future City Development Authority has already been established for its planning and execution.

The government’s focus on connectivity was also emphasized. A 41.5 km radial road was approved to connect the Regional Ring Road (RRR) and Outer Ring Road (ORR), costing Rs 4,000 crore. Stretching from Ravirala ORR interchange to Amangal mandal, the 300-feet-wide corridor will offer faster, safer connectivity between Hyderabad, Future City, and nearby industrial hubs, boosting regional integration, reducing travel time, and promoting industrial growth.

The Minister also spoke about the Musi Riverfront Development Project, aimed at reviving one of Hyderabad’s most historic rivers. The two-phase initiative includes river cleaning, developing 50-meter buffer zones, constructing check dams, and creating boating and recreational spaces. “Musi’s revival will restore ecological balance and provide cultural and leisure spaces for citizens. It’s both an environmental and social rejuvenation project,” he said.

Uttam Kumar Reddy pointed out that Ranga Reddy district is already leading the country in economic performance. According to the Economic Survey 2024-25, the district’s per capita GDP is Rs 11.46 lakh, the highest in India. It surpasses traditional economic hubs like Gurgaon (Rs 9.05 lakh), Bengaluru Urban (Rs 8.93 lakh), Noida (Rs 8.48 lakh), Solan (Rs 8.10 lakh), Goa (Rs 7.63 lakh), Sikkim (Rs 7.46 lakh), Dakshina Kannada (Rs 6.69 lakh), Mumbai (Rs 6.57 lakh), and Ahmedabad (Rs 6.54 lakh).

He attributed this success to Hyderabad’s rapid tech expansion, growing pharma industry, infrastructure boom, and rising services sector. “With projects like Bharat Future City, radial roads, and Musi Riverfront, we aim to further strengthen Ranga Reddy’s status, making it a global benchmark for innovation, industry, and sustainable urbanization,” he said.

Linking Telangana’s aspirations to its historic struggles, Uttam Kumar Reddy recalled that September 17 marks the significant day when Hyderabad State merged with the Indian Union in 1948 after Operation Polo. He paid homage to the martyrs of Telangana’s armed struggle, the 1969 agitation that claimed over 350 lives, and the 2011 second phase movement that led to Telangana’s statehood in 2014.

“Telangana was once just a dream, fulfilled through relentless struggle and sacrifice. Today’s development plans and promises will be realized the same way—with firm resolve and public cooperation. It is our duty to honor that legacy by meeting the aspirations of the people,” he said.

The Praja Palana Dinothsavam celebrations at the Ranga Reddy District Collectorate were held with patriotic zeal. As the Chief Guest, Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy hoisted the national flag to inaugurate the program formally.

Dignitaries present included Malla Reddy Ram Reddy (Chairman, State Roads & Buildings Corporation), District Collector Narayana Reddy, DCP Sunitha Reddy, Gaddiannaram Market Committee Chairman Chiluka Madhusudhan Reddy, District Library Chairman Madhusudhan Reddy, TUFDIC Chairman Narasimha Reddy, along with senior officials, public representatives, and a large number of citizens from across the district.

“Telangana’s journey itself proves that no dream is too big to achieve. The dreams we announce today will be tomorrow’s reality,” he said, while extending greetings on the occasion of Praja Palana Dinothsavam.
