Floods in Telangana – KTR expresses concern over public hardships: Govt must act immediately
Hyderabad: BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) expressed deep concern over the ongoing heavy rains and floods in Telangana that have disrupted public life, stating that the state government has failed to respond effectively. He demanded that the government immediately conduct a high-level review and intensify relief and rescue operations.
KTR said that people in several districts, including Kamareddy, Medak, Rajanna Sircilla, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Khammam, and Adilabad, are facing severe hardships. Major highways and bridges have been washed away, dozens of villages are submerged, electricity supply has been cut off in many areas, and people are left without basic necessities such as food and drinking water.
He highlighted the plight of 10 workers trapped in Boggu Gudise Vagu in Kamareddy’s Nizam Sagar mandal and several tribal families stranded on rooftops in Haveli Ghanpur Tanda of Medak district, waiting for government rescue. KTR urged that NDRF and SDRF teams be deployed immediately if necessary, recalling that during the BRS government’s tenure, even helicopters were used to save stranded people.
KTR accused the present government of neglecting public suffering while being preoccupied with politics in other states. He demanded that the Chief Minister and cabinet members immediately focus on the crisis, establish relief camps, shift stranded people to safer places, provide food, drinking water, and medical aid, and carry out urgent restoration of roads, bridges, and power supply.
He also appealed to BRS workers to stand by the people and extend support if the government fails to act effectively.
