TSPTA Urges State Govt. to Clear Pending Bills in One Instalment Before Situation Worsens
NIRMAL, Dec. 22(Abdul Majid): The Telangana State Primary Teachers Association (TSPTA) on Sunday urged the State government to clear all pending bills of teachers and education department employees in a single instalment before the situation worsens.
Addressing an emergency meeting of the State Executive Committee at the TSPTA State office, association president Syed Showkath Ali expressed concern over what he termed the government’s indifferent approach towards teachers’ issues. He said repeated attempts by teachers’ representatives to secure an appointment with the Chief Minister had failed, leaving grievances unheard.
The TSPTA president criticised the absence of consultations with teacher unions, noting that even two years after the formation of the government, the Education Minister had not convened a single meeting with them. He alleged that several education programmes were being implemented unilaterally, which he described as unscientific and detrimental to the education system.
Syed Showkath Ali demanded the immediate clearance of all pending bills through the e-Kuber system, withdrawal of the Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) programme, and scrapping of the recently introduced FRS system, which he said was consuming valuable teaching time. He also called for the immediate implementation of the Pay Revision Commission (PRC) with 50 per cent fitment and the release of five pending Dearness Allowances.
He further demanded the sanction of Headmaster posts in all primary schools and gazetted Headmaster posts in all upper primary schools, establishment of a separate Directorate for Primary Education, exemption from TET for teachers appointed prior to 2010, and early disposal of the review petition pending before the Supreme Court.
Several leaders, including State general secretary R. Rohith Naik, National Council members S.A. Jaleel and K. Manohar Reddy, associate president P. Sudharani, Districts Office bearers R. Manga, Rajamauli, Mohd Riyaz, k. Srinivas, Shaheen Tayyab, Dr. Sajid Meraj, Jaleel , J.Ekantam, N. Rama Krishna ,N. Shanthi Kumari and others, spoke at the meeting.
