Mailardevpally Police Arrest One in Cash Theft Case, Recover ₹24.49 Lakh

Hyderabad: Mailardevpally Police have arrested a 28-year-old man in connection with a theft case and recovered ₹24,49,500 in cash and a Redmi mobile phone from his residence.

The accused has been identified as Anil Nagorao Kamble, a labourer and former worker at Harsh Bakers. A case was registered at Mailardevpally Police Station under Crime No. 799/2026 under Sections 331(4) and 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

According to police, on August 31, the cashier of Harsh Bakers Biscuit Company in Kattedan kept around ₹24–25 lakh in the office locker before leaving the premises. The keys were handed over to the security guard.

On the morning of September 1, employees found that the office door, almirah and locker had been broken open and the cash was missing. Police suspected a night-time house-breaking and theft and launched an investigation.

Special teams examined CCTV footage, verified technical details and questioned witnesses to trace the suspect. Police eventually identified and apprehended Anil Kamble. During interrogation, police said the accused allegedly confessed to the offence, following which ₹24,49,500 cash and a Redmi mobile phone were recovered from his house.

Police said the investigation also revealed that the accused had previously worked at Harsh Bakers.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of Sri S. Srinivas, Deputy Commissioner of Police, and Sri A. Sudhakar, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Chandrayangutta, and led by SHO Mailardevpally Sri Ch. Srinivas, along with DI Md. Maqsood Ali, SI P. Vishwanath, DSI B. Venugopal and the staff of Mailardevpally Police Station.

Police Advisory to Employers

Police advised employers to conduct proper background verification before appointing employees, especially those handling cash or valuables. They also recommended maintaining daily accounts, conducting regular audits, limiting access to cash and valuables, and installing CCTV surveillance in secure areas.
