Hyderabad: Mailardevpally Police have cracked the murder case of Mohammed Abdul Rauf, who was killed within the limits of Mailardevpally Police Station on September 2, 2026. Police have apprehended three accused persons identified as Mohammed Javeed @ Hekla Javeed, Mohammed Abdullah and Shaik Arif.

According to police, Javeed allegedly developed a grudge against Abdul Rauf over the death of his younger brother Sajid, who died in Karnataka on May 19, 2024. Police said Javeed also claimed that the deceased had threatened and mocked him and his associates, following which they allegedly planned to eliminate him.

As per the investigation, on the night of September 2 at around 11 pm, the three accused intercepted Abdul Rauf while he was travelling in his auto. They allegedly used pepper spray and attacked him with knives, causing multiple stab injuries. The victim died from the injuries, following which the accused allegedly fled the scene.

Police said the accused disposed of the weapons, blood-stained clothes and pepper spray bottles in bushes near Palle Cheruvu. On September 4 at around 6 am, police apprehended the accused near Aramghar while they were allegedly attempting to flee towards Basavakalyan in Karnataka.

During the investigation, police recovered the deceased’s mobile phone and other articles from the possession of Mohammed Javeed. The accused also allegedly disclosed the location where the weapons and other material objects had been discarded.

Police further revealed that Mohammed Javeed is involved in around 180 cases registered in Hyderabad, neighbouring districts and Karnataka. Mohammed Arif is allegedly involved in three cases, while Mohammed Abdullah is involved in one case.

The investigation and arrests were carried out under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Rajendranagar Zone, Hyderabad.
