Hyderabad: September 03, The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad, has forecast light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thundershowers in several parts of Hyderabad and Telangana over the next three to four days.

Although extensive cloud cover is prevailing across the twin cities and neighbouring districts, the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall remains low in the absence of any major low-pressure system. However, light to moderate rain and thunderstorms are likely at several locations.

The IMD has also warned of strong surface winds reaching speeds of 30 to 40 kmph in isolated areas during the showers. Similar weather conditions, with intermittent rainfall and gusty winds, are expected to continue until September 7.

According to the IMD Hydromet Division in New Delhi, Telangana recorded 466.6 mm of rainfall between June 1 and September 2, against the normal rainfall of 587.2 mm for the period. This represents a 21 per cent rainfall deficit, placing the state in the deficient rainfall category.
