Hyderabad: BJP MP D.K. Aruna has reacted to the dismissal of Telangana minister Konda Surekha, saying that the decision was painful and not justified.

Aruna described Surekha as a senior woman leader and said she had worked with her as a minister in 2009. She said it was a matter of happiness that a fellow woman leader had risen to the position of a minister and was serving Telangana.

Aruna said she believes that internal political differences within the Congress led to Surekha’s removal from the Cabinet. She remarked that group politics and disputes exist in politics, but such differences are seen frequently in the Congress.

She also questioned the action taken against Surekha over remarks allegedly made by her daughter. Aruna said the Congress and Chief Minister often claim to have done a lot for the BC community, while Surekha herself is a BC woman leader.

Aruna said it is a significant achievement for a woman to overcome difficulties and establish herself in politics. She added that Surekha’s dismissal from the Cabinet cannot be justified.

Meanwhile, Aruna clarified that there have been no discussions so far about inviting Konda Surekha to join the BJP.
