Tight Security Arrangements for Ganesh Immersion Shobha Yatra in Hyderabad: CP C.V. Anand

Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand announced that elaborate security arrangements are in place for the upcoming Ganesh immersion Shobha Yatra to be held in the city on September 6 as part of the ongoing Vinayaka Navaratri festivities. He appealed to devotees and the public to extend full cooperation for the peaceful conduct of the event.
On Wednesday, CP Anand, along with GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan, Rachakonda CP Sudheer Babu, Additional CP Vikram Singh Mann, Hyderabad Commissioner (Hydra) A.V. Ranganath, Joint CP (Traffic) Joel Davis, Hyderabad Collector Harichandan Dasari, and other senior officials, inspected the immersion route starting from Balapur Ganesh and covering key points such as Charminar Circle, Mozamjahi Market, and Telugu Talli Flyover. The team also reviewed arrangements at the Necklace Road People’s Plaza immersion point.
The CP issued instructions on vehicle height management, idol processions, police bandobast, waste clearance, uninterrupted power supply, traffic diversions, and emergency medical services.
Speaking to the media, CP Anand said nearly 30,000 police personnel will be deployed across Hyderabad to ensure smooth conduct of the immersion, with special focus on Khairatabad and Balapur Ganesh processions. He stressed that all arrangements have been finalized in coordination with government departments and any pending works will be completed promptly.
GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan stated that arrangements have been made for immersions at 20 major lakes in Greater Hyderabad, in addition to 72 artificial ponds. He added that 134 permanent cranes and 259 mobile cranes have been deployed along with 56,187 temporary lights. For safety in Hussain Sagar, 9 boats, DRF teams, and 200 expert swimmers have been kept ready. Thirteen control rooms have also been set up with police support, and 160 Ganesh Action Teams will monitor the 303.3 km long procession routes. Over 14,486 sanitation workers are working in three shifts to maintain cleanliness during the festivities.
Karnan further said that until September 2, nearly 1,21,905 idols had already been immersed across the city, and around 50,000 more idols are expected to be immersed on September 6.
Hyderabad Collector Harichandan Dasari highlighted that all departments are working in coordination, with a special focus on uninterrupted power supply and smooth conduct of the immersion. He appealed to devotees and citizens to cooperate with the administration for peaceful celebrations.
Earlier, the officials also offered prayers at Balapur Ganesh and were welcomed by the Balapur Ganesh Utsav Samithi Chairman K. Niranjan Reddy and committee members, who presented them with traditional shawls and prasadam.
The inspection and coordination meeting were also attended by Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi General Secretary Shashidhar, Balapur Ganesh Utsav Committee President K. Niranjan Reddy, members of the committee, and senior officials from R&B, Revenue, GHMC, HMDA, Police, and other departments.
