Three Cases Registered After Attack on Government Officials During Pharma City Meeting, Key Statement by V. Satyanarayana IPS

Vikarabad 11 November (Patriotic Views) On Monday, November 11, three cases were registered at Bomraspet police station in Vikarabad following an attack on government officials during a hearing for the Pharma City project in Kodangal. Vikarabad District Collector Prateek Jain, Kodangal Area Development Authority (KADA) Chairman Venkat Reddy, and other officials were targeted in the attack while they were at Lagcherla village in Bomraspet Mandal.
Inspector General of Police (Multi Zone II) V. Satyanarayana stated that the attack appeared to be premeditated, aimed at preventing the officials from returning to the village. “Three cases have been registered, and those involved will be identified and arrested. We will uncover the conspiracy behind this violent attack on the officials,” said Satyanarayana.
Meanwhile, District Collector Prateek Jain denied the allegations of an attack by villagers. Speaking to the media, he dismissed the claims as rumors and clarified that he had visited Kodangal to hold talks with protesting farmers who had concerns about the Pharma City project. “Some mischievous elements conspired to create trouble, but I was not attacked or manhandled,” he stated.
Earlier that day, Telangana farmers had protested under the banner “Go back Pharma,” claiming that the development of the Pharma City would harm their fertile agricultural lands. When the Vikarabad District Collector and his team arrived to negotiate with the protesters, the crowd’s hostility intensified. Protesters attacked Jain’s vehicle with stones, and two other vehicles were also damaged.
The situation quickly escalated, forcing the Collector and his team to retreat to their vehicles. As they attempted to leave, protesters began throwing stones at the officials’ cars, causing damage to the Collector’s vehicle. Jain had to duck to avoid the stones, and the driver sped away to ensure their safety.
