Patriotic Views – 09 September 2025
Hyderabad, Telangana: Telangana Jagriti President Kalvakuntla Kavitha strongly urged the people of Telangana to support Justice Sudershan Reddy to be elected as the next Vice President of India. Speaking at the Telangana Jagriti program organized to commemorate the Kaloji Narayana Rao Jayanti and Chakali Ilamma Vardhanthi, Kavitha paid tributes to the portraits of Kaloji Narayana Rao and Chakali Ilamma, recognizing their contributions to Telangana’s social awakening and revolutionary spirit.
In her speech, Kavitha highlighted how Kaloji Narayana Rao inspired Telangana people with the motto:
“Your birth is yours, your death is yours, but your life belongs to Telangana.”
She asserted that the poet’s values and poetry continue to inspire generations, making his legacy immortal.
Kavitha also paid homage to Chakali Ilamma, a heroic woman who proved that a woman could achieve anything. She emphasized that such valor is ingrained in the blood of Telangana and called upon the people to move forward with the spirit of Chakali Ilamma.
Criticizing the state government, Kavitha mentioned that while the Chief Minister previously declared that the Kaleshwaram project had collapsed, he later inaugurated the project to bring water from Mallanna Sagar to Hyderabad. She argued that a similar project from Kondapochamma Sagar could bring water to Hyderabad at a cost of ₹1,500 crore, enough to quench the city’s thirst. However, the government is spending ₹7,500 crore instead, she questioned.
Kavitha urged the government to clarify why a project valued at ₹1,500 crore escalated to ₹7,500 crore, asserting that the people’s money belongs to Telangana, not Revanth Reddy’s household.
She announced Telangana Jagriti’s firm resolution to continue its struggle until the goal of Social Telangana is achieved, pledging to engage with people from all walks of life, gather their opinions, and strengthen the Telangana society.
Kavitha added that if the TRS (BRS) wins a third term, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao will implement Social Telangana, and Telangana Jagriti will advance that agenda. She also called for support for Justice Sudershan Reddy in a non-partisan manner, expressing confidence that he would bring dignity to the Vice President’s office, just as Sheshan did as Election Commissioner.
The event served as a platform to reinforce Telangana Jagriti’s mission of social justice, equitable opportunities for all, and building a progressive Telangana society.
