Telangana Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha Announces Plans to Develop Nizamabad District as a Medical Services Hub

Nizamabad, December 22 Patriotic Views : Telangana State Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha has emphasized the need to transform Nizamabad district into a medical services hub by providing quality healthcare to the people. The minister inaugurated newly constructed MC-H, Critical Care Units at a cost of Rs. 38.75 crore in Nizamabad district. After inspecting the newly launched medical services, the minister interacted with the medical officers to gather detailed information. Prior to this, the minister also inaugurated a newly constructed Primary Health Center (PHC) building in Renjal Mandal at a cost of Rs. 1.56 crore.

The minister later visited the District General Hospital (DGH) in Nizamabad, where he reviewed various departments and met with patients to inquire about the medical services they were receiving. Following this, a review meeting was held at the conference hall, where health officers from different departments discussed the current state of healthcare services in the district. They presented information regarding the medical services provided by the DGH, available facilities, required improvements, vacant posts for doctors and staff, and the need for medical equipment.

MLAs Mahesh Kumar Goud, Sudarshan Reddy, Dr. Bhupati Reddy, and others participated in the meeting and urged the minister to improve facilities and provide quality medical services. In response, the minister assured positive actions and stated that necessary funds would be allocated for the installation of bore motors for the hospitals.

Minister Rajanarasimha spoke about the previous good reputation of Nizamabad district in healthcare and encouraged medical staff to restore and enhance the district’s reputation with dedication and commitment. He emphasized that, no matter how many facilities are provided, if there is a lapse in medical services, they will not serve their purpose. He urged everyone to work with a sense of service to improve the trust people have in government hospitals. The minister clarified that private practices or clinics by government doctors will not be tolerated if they neglect their duties.

The minister also emphasized the need for significant improvements in the healthcare sector in Nizamabad by the next Ugadi festival. He instructed that necessary facilities be immediately provided to district hospitals, sub-centers, and the District General Hospital (DGH). Additionally, vacant positions for doctors and staff will be filled, and advanced medical equipment will be provided.

He mentioned that the state government is ready to establish more health centers based on the local needs and distances. The government’s commitment is to provide free, quality healthcare to the poor, which will build further trust in government hospitals. In line with this vision, Nizamabad will be developed as a medical services hub, especially for people from remote areas like Adilabad, who face difficulties accessing healthcare in Hyderabad.

Minister Rajanarasimha also assured that he would take steps to establish a Vascular Access Center, Trauma Care Unit, and Cancer Treatment Center in the next three to four months.

The review meeting was attended by District Collector Rajeev Gandhi Hanumanthu, Medical Education Commissioner Dr. Ajay Kumar, DM&HO Dr. Vani, Additional Collector Ankit, and other officials including Tahir Bin Handan, Chairman of the State Urdu Academy, Manala Mohan Reddy, Chairman of the State Cooperative Union, and District Medical Health Officer Dr. Rajashree.
