Telangana Health Minister Damodar Raj Narsimha Responds to Court Verdict on PG Medical Seats

Hyderabad, 18 December 2024 (Patriotic Views): Telangana Health Minister Damodar Raj Narsimha has issued a statement addressing the court’s verdict regarding admissions to PG medical seats in the state. The Minister emphasized that GO 148 and GO 149 were introduced to ensure that non-local students, who have studied under the 15% unreserved quota in Telangana’s medical colleges, do not encroach upon the local quota reserved for Telangana students. He clarified that the primary objective of these Government Orders is to safeguard the rights of Telangana students and ensure justice for them.

Minister Narsimha criticized the false propaganda being spread about the court’s decision, stating that certain individuals are distorting facts and misleading the public. He described this campaign of misinformation as more shameful than Goebbels-style politics, referring to the infamous propaganda tactics.

The Health Minister appealed to Telangana students and their parents not to fall prey to such misleading narratives. He assured that the government would thoroughly examine the court’s decision and take necessary steps to protect the interests of local students in securing PG medical seats.

He further stated that while the verdict is being portrayed by some as a victory for Telangana students, the actual implications suggest otherwise. The Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring that Telangana students receive their rightful share of PG medical admissions and that no injustice is done to them.
