Six-Member Gang Behind Chandanagar Jewellery Heist Busted; Prime Accused Arrested

Hyderabad, Aug. 23, 2025 – The Cyberabad Police have cracked the sensational Khajana Jewellers armed robbery case that took place on August 12, 2025, at Chandanagar. Six accused involved in the crime have been arrested in multiple operations across different states.

On the day of the incident, six unidentified armed offenders stormed into Khajana Jewellers, Chandanagar, and opened fire at the Deputy Manager, injuring him in the left knee, before looting 10 kg of silver articles coated in gold colour. A case was registered at Chandanagar Police Station under Crime No. 890/2025 with various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act.

🔹 First Arrests: On August 15, 2025, two accused – Aashish Kumar Singh and Deepak Kumar Sah – were nabbed at Jejuri, Pune, and Hyderabad respectively. Based on their confession, police recovered 900 grams of looted silver articles.

🔹 Second Arrests: On August 19, 2025, two more accused – Anish Kumar Singh and Prince Kumar Rajak – were arrested at Pimpri, Pune. Their interrogation led to the recovery of 1,015 grams of silver articles and a country-made firearm.

🔹 Prime Accused Held: On August 22, 2025, police arrested the two prime accused – Prince Kumar Bharati, said to be the gang leader, and Rohit Kumar Rajak @ Rohit Baitha, who fired the weapon during the heist. They were caught at Ankleshwar, Gujarat. During questioning, the duo revealed that they had hidden additional weapons and ornaments, which are expected to be recovered during police custody.

Criminal Background

Investigations revealed that the accused are habitual offenders with a history of violent crimes.

Prince Kumar Bharati is wanted in at least six cases registered in Siwan, Gopalganj, and Saran districts of Bihar, including charges of attempt to murder, dacoity, Arms Act violations, forgery, and NDPS Act cases.

Rohit Kumar Rajak alias Rohit Baitha is also an accused in Crime No. 208/2025 at Ekma Police Station, Saran district, Bihar, for similar offences.

Police are still on the lookout for three more absconding accused and are working to recover the remaining stolen property.

Advisory to Jewellers

Cyberabad Police have advised jewellery shop owners to adopt strong security measures, including intrusion alarm panels and close coordination with local police stations, to prevent such armed robberies in the future.
