Residents of Low-Lying Areas Urged to Stay Alert Amid Heavy Godavari Floods
Dharmapuri: Due to heavy rains in the upstream areas causing significant flooding in the Godavari River, State Welfare Minister Adluri Lakshman Kumar inspected the river along with the District Collector and SP.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that recent heavy rains in the upstream regions have led to massive flooding in the Godavari. In response, the district administration conducted an inspection of the river and its surrounding low-lying areas to assess the situation.
He added that for the past 15 days, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has been reviewing the flood situation with officials from all districts in the state. Officials have been instructed to relocate residents of vulnerable low-lying areas to safe locations.
The minister assured the public that there is no need to panic, as district officials and police personnel are readily available. He also urged local residents to cooperate with the authorities during this time.
