Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud on Monday said the Congress government’s completion of 1,000 days in office marked a significant milestone in people-centric governance, attributing the achievement to the blessings and trust of the people.

Extending congratulations to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Cabinet ministers, public representatives and Congress workers, Mahesh Kumar Goud said the government had prioritised education, healthcare, agriculture and social welfare during its tenure.

He said the Congress government had waived crop loans of up to ₹2 lakh, benefiting over 25 lakh farmers, while increasing Rythu Bharosa assistance to ₹12,000 per acre. He added that large-scale paddy procurement and bonus payments for fine variety paddy had strengthened the rural economy.

Highlighting the government’s agricultural initiatives, he said nearly ₹1.75 lakh crore had been spent on the farm sector, including over ₹20,000 crore towards farm loan waiver, ₹36,000 crore under Rythu Bharosa, ₹30,000 crore for free agricultural power supply, around ₹4,000 crore as bonus for fine paddy, and ₹3,500 crore under the Rythu Bima insurance scheme.

Mahesh Kumar Goud said the government was also implementing key welfare measures, including 200 units of free electricity under the Gruha Jyothi scheme and LPG cylinders at ₹500 for eligible beneficiaries.

He said 16.32 lakh new ration cards had been issued, while 1.06 crore food security cards were benefiting 3.43 crore people across the state.

On employment and education, he said the government had filled over 70,000 government jobs, established the Young India Skills University, upgraded ITIs into advanced technology centres, introduced breakfast in schools and colleges, and launched the construction of 100 Young India Integrated Residential Schools.

Emphasising the government’s commitment to social justice, Mahesh Kumar Goud said the BC caste survey, 42% reservation for Backward Classes in local bodies, and completion of the SC categorisation process reflected the Congress government’s inclusive approach.

He said the government had placed farmers, women, agricultural labourers and weaker sections at the centre of its policies, adding that Telangana’s decisions were in line with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s vision of social justice.
