Operation Smile–XII Launched in Nizamabad to Trace Missing Children and Curb Child Exploitation

Nizamabad, December 29 (MD Akber- Patriotic Views): The Nizamabad Police Commissionerate on Monday formally launched Operation Smile–XII at the Commissioner’s Office, in line with directions of the Telangana State Women Safety Wing and as per the instructions of Police Commissioner P. Sai Chaitanya, IPS, with the inaugural programme conducted by Additional DCP (Admin) G. Baswa Reddy. Addressing officials, the Additional DCP said the special drive, to be conducted from January 1 to January 31, aims to trace missing boys and girls below 18 years across Nizamabad, Armoor and Bodhan divisions, reunite them with parents, and provide counselling, while also identifying child labourers, beggar children and abandoned children and taking strict criminal action against those forcing children into begging or bonded labour. One SI-level officer, four staff members and one woman constable have been deployed in each division, with consolidated reports to be shared with the Women Safety Wing, Hyderabad. The public was urged to share information through Dial 100 or by contacting Nizamabad In-charge SI P. Rajeswar (8712577816), Armoor In-charge SI Indrakarna Reddy (9440140022) and Bodhan In-charge SI D. Peter (9440566595), with confidentiality assured. The programme was attended by CCRB CI Anjaiah, Child & Women District Welfare Officer Rasool Bi, Child & Women Welfare Officer Suddam Laxmi, District Child Welfare Committee Chairperson D. Sampoorna, Labour Officer Prabhudas, Health Department official G. Raju, District Child Protection Officer Chaitanya, AHTU staff, and divisional officers from Nizamabad, Armoor and Bodhan.
