Maulana Mohammed Riyaz Ahmed Qadri Hussami Strongly Condemns Pawan Kalyan’s Controversial Statement: “Calling Muslims Terrorists is Pure Hate Speech”

Hyderabad, May 4, 2025: A wave of public outrage has erupted following a controversial statement by Andhra Pradesh Home Minister and South Indian film actor Pawan Kalyan, in which he appeared to link practicing Muslims with terrorism.
In response, noted religious and social leader Maulana Mohammed Riyaz Ahmed Qadri Hussami, Principal of Riyaz-ul-Uloom and Riyaz Islamic School, Falaknuma, strongly condemned the statement, saying:
“Pawan Kalyan’s claim that ‘100% practicing Muslims are terrorists’ is not only shameful but an outright act of hate speech and communal provocation. Islam has no connection with terrorism whatsoever.”
Maulana Hussami further criticized the South Indian film industry for often portraying Muslims with visible Islamic identity—such as caps, beards, kurtas, and scarves—as symbols of terrorism. He called this a systematic attempt to defame the Muslim community and incite hatred.
“Islam is a religion of peace and love,” he added. “Practicing or non-practicing Muslims are not involved in terrorism or extremism. It is some miscreants, using the name of religion, who harm the country’s culture and unity. The government must keep a close watch and take strict legal action against such elements.”
He reminded Pawan Kalyan that in the holy month of Ramadan, the Chief Minister of the same state participated in an Iftar party, wore a cap, and offered prayers. “Does that make him a terrorist in your view?” he asked.
Maulana Hussami also mentioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that if the BJP claims to stand for Muslim rights, then such statements by Pawan Kalyan go directly against that narrative and expose his deep-rooted hatred.
He further pointed out that Muslims in Andhra Pradesh supported Chandrababu Naidu in large numbers in the recent elections, and Pawan Kalyan holds ministerial office due to that alliance. “Making such provocative remarks is nothing but a betrayal of Muslim trust and dignity.”
In conclusion, Maulana Riyaz Hussami advised Pawan Kalyan:
“Power is not permanent. Leaders come and go. Instead of spreading hate, use your time and position to serve the people with justice and unity
