Kishan Reddy Highlights Importance of Cow Protection at Telangana State Goshala Awards in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Union Minister Kishan Reddy participated as the chief guest at the State-level Telangana Goshala Awards organized by the GoSeva Telangana Division at KMIT, Hyderabad.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Reddy congratulated all participants, saying, “Having grown up in a rural environment, I have a deep respect for cows and an understanding of the importance of their protection. I am fully aware of the immense benefits cows provide to society. The joy of seeing cows roam freely in green pastures is unparalleled and can only be truly felt by those who experience it.”
He highlighted the cultural and spiritual significance of cows, citing the Vedic saying ‘Gau Vishvasya Mata’, meaning ‘The cow is the mother of the universe’. Reddy emphasized that cows are not only a source of milk but also contribute to human health through their presence and interactions.
The Minister referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, noting that despite his busy schedule, he keeps cows at his residence and benefits from the mental peace and health advantages derived from spending time with them.
Reddy expressed concern over the decreasing grazing lands and the restrictions imposed on cows, which now often have to stay in confined spaces or goshalas without sufficient freedom and comfort. He stressed that cow protection is a collective societal responsibility, not just for gosala workers.
He also highlighted the importance of cow-derived products, mentioning that even countries like Saudi Arabia use Indian cow products, and cow waste is utilized in agriculture to improve soil fertility.
The Minister lauded the GoSeva Telangana Division for involving parents and children in the program, underlining the importance of instilling respect and responsibility toward cow protection among future generations.
He urged the public to ensure that cows are protected, highlighting the need to prevent them from consuming plastic waste in urban areas and calling for their population to be preserved and nurtured.
This event showcased the cultural, spiritual, and social significance of cows in Telangana, and the Minister’s remarks emphasized a combined effort from society to safeguard these sacred animals.
