Kishan Reddy Demands Immediate Removal of Lands from Telangana’s 22-A List

Hyderabad: Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy accused the Telangana government of misusing the Bhu Bharati–22A provisions to place farmers’, poor people’s and middle-class families’ lands in the prohibited list.

Addressing a BJP-led protest at Indira Park in Hyderabad, Kishan Reddy demanded the immediate and unconditional removal of lands that were allegedly added to the 22A prohibited list. He alleged that even residential properties with valid title documents, building permissions and utility connections had been included in the list.

Kishan Reddy accused the Congress government of turning Telangana into a “real estate company” and alleged that government lands were being sold under various pretexts. He also criticised the government over the alleged sale of lands belonging to institutions and public bodies.

He claimed that more than 60 lakh acres of land in Telangana had been brought under the 22A category and alleged that instead of correcting problems in the Dharani land records system, the government had worsened them.

The Union Minister further alleged that corruption and commissions were involved in land-related decisions and warned officials and political leaders against illegally targeting the lands of poor people. He said BJP leaders and workers were documenting alleged irregularities and promised that every rupee would be accounted for if the BJP came to power in Telangana.

Kishan Reddy called for the immediate removal of genuine farmers’ and citizens’ lands from the 22A prohibited list. He said the BJP would continue its agitation from the village level to the Assembly until justice was delivered to those affected.
