Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, speaking at the introduction program of INDIA bloc’s Vice Presidential candidate Justice Sudarshan Reddy, said that the event was organized to congratulate him and to extend collective support from all Telugu people.

Revanth Reddy stressed that leaders from both Telugu states must come together to back Justice Sudarshan Reddy, recalling the significant contributions of Telugu stalwarts like Neelam Sanjiva Reddy, V.V. Giri, P.V. Narasimha Rao, Jaipal Reddy, Venkaiah Naidu, and N.T. Rama Rao at the national level. “Today, Telugu leaders are not playing such a crucial role in national politics, but Justice Sudarshan Reddy’s candidature gives us a new opportunity,” he said.

He pointed out that Sudarshan Reddy’s contest has turned the Vice Presidential election into a real fight, with the INDIA bloc challenging the NDA. “While the NDA seeks to amend the Constitution and abolish reservations, the INDIA bloc is entering the polls to protect the Constitution, safeguard reservations, and defend democracy,” he asserted.

The CM criticized the resignation of the Vice President as “surprising,” saying the nation is closely watching the developments. “This is an opportunity for a Telugu leader to gain prominence at the national level, and it is the responsibility of all Telugu people to unite and support him,” he said.

Appealing to leaders across parties — Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, K. Chandrashekar Rao, Asaduddin Owaisi — along with 42 MPs and 18 Rajya Sabha members from both states, Revanth Reddy urged them to “vote according to their conscience” in support of Justice Sudarshan Reddy.

Highlighting Sudarshan Reddy’s vast experience, the CM said he has always worked in the spirit of the Constitution, without any affiliation to political parties. “His only party is the Constitution. His only agenda is to protect it,” he said, adding that a respected leader with faith in Ambedkar’s principles must chair the Rajya Sabha to ensure justice.

Revanth Reddy also dismissed criticism labeling Justice Sudarshan Reddy as a “Naxalite.” He clarified, “Naxalism is just a philosophy. One may agree or disagree with it, but you counter it with arguments, not by seeking to destroy it.”

“Supporting Justice Sudarshan Reddy is not about party or ideology; it is about upholding the Constitution. Protecting the Constitution is protecting the nation,” Revanth Reddy concluded.
