Indiramma Housing Scheme Launched in Wanaparthy – Ministers Highlight Government’s Commitment to Welfare and Development
Wanaparthy, September 6 (Patriotic Views News):
State Revenue, Housing, and Information & Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said that the government is moving forward with both development and welfare like the two wheels of a bullock cart. Despite inheriting a debt burden of ₹8.19 lakh crore from previous rulers, the present government is fulfilling every promise made during the elections. He was speaking at the inauguration of the Indiramma Housing programme held at Mangampalli village in Peddamandadi Mandal of Wanaparthy district on Saturday, along with Ministers Jupally Krishna Rao, Vakkiti Srihari, local MLA Tudi Megha Reddy, and District Collector Adarsh Surabhi.
The Minister said that the Indiramma government, formed with the blessings of the people, has earned praise by showing what true governance should be. He recalled that soon after coming to power, the government introduced free travel for women in RTC buses, free 200 units of electricity, LPG cylinders for ₹500, farmer loan waivers up to ₹2 lakh with ₹21,000 crore, enhancement of Rythu Bharosa support to ₹12,000 per acre, and an additional bonus of ₹500 per quintal for fine variety paddy. He also said that seven lakh new ration cards were issued while newly married members and newborns were added to old cards.
Criticizing the previous government, Srinivas Reddy said they promised double-bedroom houses but failed to deliver. In contrast, the present government has initiated the construction of 3,500 Indiramma houses in every constituency with funds of ₹22,500 crore in the first phase. Every poor family in the state will be allotted a house in subsequent phases, he assured.
Excise, Tourism and Culture Minister Jupally Krishna Rao said that while earlier governments had debts of around ₹70,000 crore, the previous rulers alone left a burden of ₹8 lakh crore in 10 years. Yet, the Indiramma government is determined to fulfill its promises despite financial challenges. He appealed to beneficiaries to complete their houses quickly.
Animal Husbandry and Sports Minister Vakkiti Srihari said that no poor family will remain without its own house in the state. He stated that 4.50 lakh Indiramma houses were sanctioned with an allocation of ₹22,500 crore, providing ₹5 lakh for each unit. He added that houses were sanctioned transparently, without discrimination, and funds are being released weekly based on construction progress.
Local MLA Tudi Megha Reddy said that Minister Srinivas Reddy kept his election promise of adopting Wanaparthy constituency by sanctioning ₹1,280 crore for development works. He urged for additional sanction of houses for tribals in the region.
District Collector Adarsh Surabhi informed that 6,127 Indiramma houses were sanctioned in Wanaparthy district, of which 3,565 have been marked, 180 completed up to lintel level, 150 up to roof level, 1,220 up to basement level, and the remaining are under construction.
On this occasion, beneficiaries were presented with clothes by Minister Srinivas Reddy on behalf of the government, while MLA Tudi Megha Reddy personally distributed clothes.
The programme was attended by DCCB Chairman Vishnuvardhan Reddy, Additional Collectors, Market Committee Chairman P. Srinivas Goud, party activists, and a large number of people.
