“If Defected MLAs Have the Courage, Let Them Resign and Recontest: KTR Challenges Revanth Reddy”

Hyderabad, August 24:
BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao threw a direct challenge at Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, questioning his courage to face the people through by-elections after 20 months of Congress rule. Speaking at a massive gathering of party workers in Serilingampally constituency, KTR said that defected MLAs must resign and recontest if they truly claim to have public support.

He urged the Chief Minister to present his 20-month record of governance before the people and accept by-elections as a referendum. “If Congress believes it has worked for the people, let those who defected face the ballot again. The truth will come out,” KTR declared.

KTR accused the Congress government of unleashing lawlessness through the HYDRA task force, which, according to him, has collapsed Hyderabad’s real estate sector and victimised the poor. He condemned the demolition of ordinary citizens’ homes while the illegal properties of the powerful remain untouched.

Drawing a sharp contrast between BRS’s decade-long development and Congress’s 20 months of instability, KTR said: “KCR solved the power crisis, built world-class infrastructure, gave equal respect to all communities, and strengthened farmers and pensioners. Revanth Reddy, despite borrowing ₹2.2 lakh crore in just 20 months, has not built even a single bridge.”

With a call to defend Telangana’s progress and pride, KTR reaffirmed that BRS workers remain the backbone of the party. “Even if a few leaders betrayed us, our pink flag never left the hands of our loyal workers,” he said.
