Hyderabad: An Armed Reserve (AR) constable allegedly died by suicide at his residence in Amberpet on Sunday, reportedly following distress over a failed relationship.

The deceased was identified as 25-year-old Nibhash, an AR constable posted at Petlaburj. He was residing in Tirumalanagar and was reportedly in a relationship with a young woman. According to preliminary information, her family had opposed their marriage.

Amberpet Inspector Kiran Kumar said Nibhash had sent WhatsApp messages to some of his friends indicating that he intended to take the extreme step. Concerned by the messages, his friends alerted the police and rushed to his residence.

However, by the time they reached the house, Nibhash was found unresponsive. Police subsequently began an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

The Amberpet Police are examining the messages and other available information as part of the investigation. Further details are awaited.
