Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dr. Sravan Dasoju on Thursday said that Telangana’s democratic struggle, development journey, and strong federal spirit received significant global attention during a high-level interaction with the German Bundestag Committee on Internal Affairs.

The delegation, led by Mr. Josef Oster and comprising Members of Parliament from across Germany’s political spectrum, held detailed discussions on the Telangana Agitation, post-statehood governance, and India’s federal structure.

Dr. Sravan Dasoju highlighted that the historic Telangana movement under the leadership of Shri K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) was a central theme of the dialogue. He said the agitation was not merely a regional demand but a democratic assertion for dignity, self-respect, and federal justice, which resonated strongly with the German lawmakers.

The interaction also witnessed an in-depth exchange of views on democracy, federalism, internal governance, judiciary, industry, and constitutional institutions, reflecting shared democratic values between India and Germany. Dr. Dasoju emphasised that strong federalism, institutional integrity, and respect for democratic mandates remain the foundation of stable governance.

Hyderabad’s plural culture, economic growth, and global outlook were also discussed, along with the strengthening Indo-German relationship. Dr. Dasoju noted that Hyderabad represents India’s composite culture and future-ready economy, playing an important role in fostering international cooperation.

Calling for sustained parliamentary engagement, Dr. Sravan Dasoju stressed that in an increasingly polarised world, continuous dialogue rooted in democratic values is essential. He reiterated that Telangana is prepared to actively engage, learn, and contribute on the global democratic platform.
