District Collector Urges Collective Responsibility to Eradicate Child Marriages
The District Collector, Sikta Patnayak, emphasized that eliminating child marriages is a responsibility for everyone during a meeting organized under the Women Development and Child Welfare Department – District Women Empowerment Center (DHEW) with district officials.
During the event, a handbook on child marriages was released by District Collector Sikta Patnayak, Additional District Collector (Local Bodies) Sanchit Gangwar, Additional District Collector (Revenue) Srinu, and Training Collector Pranay Kumar.
Speaking on the occasion, the officials highlighted the importance of protecting and educating girls under the slogan “Protect Girls – Educate Girls.” They called for special attention to girls’ education, promotion of gender equality, and responsible efforts by every citizen to eliminate child marriages.
The program was attended by Additional District Collector (Local Bodies) Sanchit Gangwar, Additional District Collector (Revenue) Srinu, Training Collector Pranay Kumar, and officials from the Women Development and Child Welfare Department including Srilatha, Karishma, Sai, Narsimulu, Anita, Narsimha, Lakshmikant, along with other district officers.
