Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka Highlights Key Development Initiatives in Khammam on Praja Palana Dinotsavam

Khammam, September 17 (Patriotic Views) – On the occasion of Praja Palana Dinotsavam, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka addressed a public gathering in Khammam and shared several key development initiatives and achievements under the Telangana government.

● Under the Telangana Green Energy Policy, the government is progressing with an ambitious plan to invest ₹1.98 lakh crore by 2030 to produce 20,000 MW of renewable energy and create employment opportunities for 1.4 lakh people.

● As part of the Indira Mahila Shakti Scheme, plans are underway to set up a 2 MW solar power plant operated by women’s associations.

● Through the Indira Solar Giri Jal Vikas Scheme for the 2025-26 fiscal year, 550 beneficiaries have been selected in Khammam district. As part of the Model Solar Village Scheme, around 16,837 families will receive 2 kW rooftop solar plants, and 4,371 agricultural power service connections will get 7.5 kW solar plants for free.

● So far, 24,818 new white ration cards have been issued in Khammam district, benefiting a total of 1,03,166 family members with free ration supplies.

● Welfare schemes such as free bus travel for women, Gruha Jyoti power subsidy, LPG cylinders at ₹500, Raithu Bharosa, and Indiramma houses are being actively implemented by the government.

● To date, 4.44 crore free bus journeys have been provided in the district, saving women ₹209.21 crore in transportation costs.

● Under the LPG subsidy scheme, the government has paid ₹26.31 crore for 2,29,034 subsidized cylinders consumed by families.

● The Gruha Jyoti Scheme has benefited 2,43,852 families with a total subsidy of ₹160.30 crore.

● To fulfill the dream of owning a home for the poor, the government has sanctioned a total of 15,561 Indiramma homes in the district, with 3,500 homes allocated in the first phase for the constituency.

● The Seetharama Lift Irrigation Project is providing irrigation facilities on 1.38 lakh acres, supplemented by linking Nagarjuna Sagar Left Canal, Vairam, Lanka Sagar Projects, and small water resource canals via the Paleru Link Canal construction.

● In Raghunathapalem Mandal, the Manchukonda Lift Irrigation Scheme was completed, providing new irrigation to 455 acres and stabilizing 1,957 acres of ayakattu.

● Link canal works from Munneru River for Seetharama Lift Irrigation are progressing with an allocation of ₹107 crore, while the retaining wall works on both sides of the river are underway with ₹525 crore.

● The Jawahar Lift Irrigation Scheme, with a budget of ₹630 crore, has been inaugurated to supply irrigation to farmers in Errupalem and Madhira mandals. Upon completion, 33,000 acres of ayakattu will be stabilized.

● Under the R&B department, construction works of a cable-stayed bridge on Munneru River worth ₹180 crore, medical college building construction worth ₹130 crore, and expansion of two-lane roads to four lanes worth ₹139 crore are in progress.

● In line with environmental balance and reducing carbon emissions, the government launched the Van Mahotsavam (Tree Plantation Program). For 2025-26, the target is to plant 35.32 lakh trees, and so far, 29.68 lakh trees have already been planted.

Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka reaffirmed the government’s commitment to sustainable development, empowerment of women, strengthening rural infrastructure, and improving public welfare, while urging people to actively participate in the ongoing development initiatives.
