Damodar Rajanarsimha Inaugurates AMRUT Water Supply Scheme and Women’s Empowerment Projects in Sangareddy

In a significant step towards improving water supply and women’s empowerment, State Minister for Medical and Health, Damodar Rajanarsimha, inaugurated the AMRUT water supply scheme with an investment of ₹44 crore, aiming to provide clean drinking water to every household in Sangareddy town.

As part of his district tour, the minister also launched a commercial building complex constructed by the District Women’s Federation.

Following this, Damodar Rajanarsimha laid the foundation stone for the first petrol pump in the state to be managed by women, under the leadership of the District Women’s Federation, at an investment of ₹2 crore. This petrol pump will be set up in collaboration with Indian Oil.

Speaking at the event, Minister Rajanarsimha praised the establishment of the first petrol pump managed by women in Sangareddy, calling it a commendable achievement. He emphasized that when women receive education, they bring about positive change in society. He urged women to take inspiration from the life of social reformer Savitribai Phule and continue to move forward. He also mentioned that in 1993, the government allocated five acres of land for women’s organizations in the region.

The minister encouraged women to excel in all fields and urged them to think about self-employment opportunities. He highlighted that education boosts confidence and resilience, and assured that the government will provide support for women to grow beyond political boundaries.

Rajanarsimha also emphasized that women’s organizations should design programs that promote self-employment, along with developmental activities. The government is committed to the upliftment of women, he affirmed. On this occasion, the government also provided ₹25 lakh to the District Women’s Federation for their activities.

The event was attended by Medak Parliament Member Raghunandan Rao, local MLA Prabhakar, Chairpersons of state government organizations Nirmala Jaggareddy and Faheem, Collector Kranti, local public representatives, district officials, and members of the District Women’s Federation.
