Cyberabad Police Commissioner, Avinash Mohanty, IPS, chaired a Crime Review Meeting on November 28, 2024, at the Balanagar DCP Office to assess the current status of crime investigations in the zone. The meeting focused on addressing pending cases and accelerating the pace of ongoing investigations.

Key Focus Areas:

1. Resolution of Pending Cases:
   Commissioner Mohanty instructed officials to speed up investigations, especially in Section 174 cases, with an emphasis on improving coordination with judicial officers to secure timely charge sheets and facilitate faster trials.
2. Crimes Against Women and Children:
   A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to addressing kidnapping cases and other crimes against women and children. The CP urged officers to take swift action and recommended invoking the Prevention Detention (PD) Act for repeat offenders to ensure justice.
3. Execution of Non-Bailable Warrants (NBWs):
   The review also included discussions on strategies for executing Non-Bailable Warrants (NBWs) and handling missing persons cases, particularly those involving vulnerable groups such as women and children.
4. Combatting Cybercrime:
   Commissioner Mohanty stressed the importance of public awareness campaigns to prevent cyber fraud and other online crimes, urging officers to take proactive steps in preventing such incidents.
5. Addressing Property and Narcotics Crimes:
   The meeting also highlighted the need to enhance efforts in tackling property-related crimes, improving conviction rates in forgery, robbery, and Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) cases.
6. CCTV Utilization:
   The CP called for the installation of CCTV cameras by the public, stressing that they are essential tools for providing evidence in court and securing convictions.
