Nizamabad, December 12 (MD Akber- Patriotic Views): In preparation for the second phase of Panchayat elections across Nizamabad Division, the Nizamabad Police Commissioner, P. Sai Chaitanya, IPS, convened a high-level review meeting today at the Dichpalli Circle office with senior police officials to ensure comprehensive security arrangements. Emphasizing a peaceful voting environment, the Commissioner directed strict adherence to election regulations, highlighting the identification of sensitive and hyper-sensitive polling stations and the deployment of robust security measures. He instructed officials to prevent campaigning or display of symbols within designated distances of polling stations, deploy striking forces to disperse disruptive groups if needed, and maintain tight surveillance at interstate and inter-district checkpoints to curb illicit transportation of cash, alcohol, or other materials that could influence elections. Village police officers (VPOs) were tasked with proactive monitoring and gathering intelligence to facilitate smooth polling. Commissioner P. Sai Chaitanya also emphasized that polling staff must report early, execute duties meticulously, and resist all inducements until vote counting concludes, with immediate action against any dereliction of duty.
