CP outlines extensive security, surveillance, and enforcement measures in Armoor Division

Nizamabad, December 16 (MD Akber-Patriotic Views): Ahead of the third phase of Gram Panchayat elections, Nizamabad Police Commissioner P. Sai Chaitanya, IPS, announced comprehensive security arrangements across the Police Commissionerate to ensure peaceful and incident-free polling. The third phase covers the Armoor Division, where elections will be held in 148 Gram Panchayats across 12 mandals, involving 3,26,029 voters at 1,496 polling stations. As part of preventive measures, the police have established three check posts at Pothangal, Saloora, and Khandgaon with round-the-clock vehicle checks, while intensified surveillance has been put in place in 60 sensitive locations. A total of 24 Flying Squads and four Static Surveillance Teams have been deployed. In enforcement actions, police seized 100.24 litres of illicit liquor worth 77,447 in six cases, bound over 194 persons before Tahsildars, and registered two cases for violation of the election code at Kamarpally and Nandipet police stations. Of 18 gun licence holders in the Armoor Division, 11 deposited their weapons, while seven licences pertain to banks. Commissioner P. Sai Chaitanya warned that unauthorized rallies would invite action under Section 163 BNSS, citing earlier cases booked at Yedapalli Police Station in Tanakal Gram. Overall, 1,100 police personnel have been deployed to safeguard law and order during the elections.
