Hyderabad, 21 DEC (Patriotic Views) – Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy delivered a powerful speech in the State Assembly today, emphasizing the government’s commitment to farmers’ welfare and the efficient implementation of the Rythu Bharosa scheme. He criticized the opposition for their mismanagement of previous schemes and urged them to provide meaningful suggestions for the program’s success.

Key Highlights of CM’s Speech:

1. Rythu Bharosa: A Mission for Farmers
   • The Chief Minister reiterated that Rythu Bharosa is a program designed to support farmers who consider land as their mother.
   • He assured that the government seeks meaningful input from the opposition to ensure the scheme’s success and extend support to deserving farmers.
2. Mismanagement of Rythu Bandhu in BRS Rule
   • CM Reddy highlighted the irregularities in the previous Rythu Bandhu scheme, where ₹72,817 crores were spent over ten years.
   • He alleged that ₹22,000 crores were distributed to undeserving entities, including non-agricultural lands, layouts, highways, and even stone crushers.
   • “Should we continue extending Rythu Bharosa to stones and roads?” he questioned, urging accountability.
3. Farmers’ Suicides Under BRS Government
   • Telangana registered the second-highest number of farmers’ suicides under the previous government.
   • CM Reddy expressed anguish over the alarming figures, calling it shameful for a state with surplus resources.
   • “Instead of apologizing to farmers, BRS leaders boast of their so-called achievements,” he remarked.
4. Loan Waivers: Congress vs. BRS
   • Comparing the two regimes, CM Reddy revealed that while the BRS government waived ₹27,000 crores in ten years, the Congress government waived ₹20,616 crores within just 27 days, benefitting over 25 lakh farmers.
   • He stressed that loan waivers are not about greatness but about responsibility towards farmers.
5. Call for Meaningful Opposition
   • CM Reddy criticized the opposition leader for abstaining from the session, suggesting it was to avoid accountability.
   • “We welcome constructive suggestions if they are reasonable and beneficial for farmers,” he stated.
6. Congress’ Role in Telangana Statehood
   • Reiterating Congress’ commitment, CM Reddy lauded Sonia Gandhi’s leadership in granting statehood to Telangana.
   • He condemned the BRS leaders for their ungratefulness, accusing them of forgetting their past gestures towards Congress leadership.

Government’s Commitment

The Chief Minister assured the Assembly that his government prioritizes the welfare of farmers and remains steadfast in delivering the benefits of state schemes to every eligible citizen.

“The opposition may demand answers, but we are here to serve the people and fulfill our responsibilities,” CM Reddy concluded.
