Hyderabad, Sept 6 (Patriotic Views News):
Several Backward Class (BC) leaders joined Telangana Jagruthi on Saturday, extending their support to the movement for enhanced BC reservations. At the Jagruthi office in Banjara Hills, Telangana Jagruthi President Kalvakuntla Kavitha welcomed the new entrants by offering party scarves.

Among those who joined were former GHMC Corporator Gopu Sadanandam, State President of the Nomadic Tribes Association Kol Srinivas, and Are Katika Association leader Surender, along with their followers. They stated that they were inspired by Kavitha’s relentless efforts to achieve increased BC reservations and pledged to fight until 42% reservations are secured.

Consultations on 42% Reservations

Later in the day, Kavitha held discussions with leaders of various BC organizations at the Jagruthi office regarding the demand for 42% BC reservations. Addressing the gathering, she criticized the Congress government, alleging that it is planning to conduct local body elections without implementing the Kamareddy Declaration.

She accused the state government of passing bills in the Assembly and Council under pressure from BC organizations and Jagruthi but failing to make any concrete effort to secure Presidential assent. She reminded that despite assurances in the Assembly to take an all-party delegation to the Prime Minister, no such attempt was made.

Kavitha also said that while the Centre and Governor stalled the bills, the state government failed to pursue legal or political measures to ensure implementation. She charged that recent Assembly and Council sessions were used to stage “deceptive politics” under the guise of constitutional amendments.

Reaffirming her stand, Kavitha declared that Telangana Jagruthi will continue its movement until 42% reservations for BCs in local bodies, education, and employment are achieved. She also announced that a detailed action plan will soon be unveiled after consultations with BC leaders and representatives of different communities.
