Children’s Day Celebration: Emphasis on Islamic Education, India’s Progress, and Quality Education : Mra Siddiqi

Hyderabad, November 14 — (Patriotic Views) A dignified ceremony was held at Riyaz Islamic School to commemorate Children’s Day, where the school’s chairman, Muhammad Riyaz Ahmed, emphasized the responsibility of parents and teachers in shaping children’s personalities and instilling Islamic values alongside quality education. He noted that India’s path to progress can only be illuminated by equipping children with modern education as well as ethical values, as a strong and educated generation is essential for the nation’s future.

Muhammad Riyaz Ahmed paid tribute to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s love for children and his vision by celebrating Children’s Day on November 14, with the purpose of enriching the future generations with the “jewels of education.” He further mentioned that Pandit Nehru believed children are the future of the nation, and that their education and good upbringing are keys to India’s advancement. Today’s children are the architects of tomorrow, he said, and it is essential to foster positive, ethical, and educational values in them.

Referring to Islamic teachings, he highlighted how the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ emphasized kindness towards children and their upbringing. He urged that children be instilled with virtues like honesty, integrity, justice, love, and ethics, while encouraging them to live by Islamic principles.

In his speech, Muhammad Riyaz Ahmed stressed the importance of quality education for India’s development and prosperity. He noted that in a developing country like India, improving the educational standard is crucial to enable children to succeed in their own lives and contribute to the country’s progress. He appealed to parents and teachers to integrate both modern and Islamic teachings from an early age to prepare children for a bright future and to honor the nation.

He emphasized that parents and teachers should guide children in distinguishing between right and wrong and in adopting the path of truth. Citing a famous quote by Hazrat Ali (RA), “Train your children according to the times they live in,” he underscored the importance of preparing children for the challenges of this era, with success in both religion and worldly life.
