The long-pending cemetery land issue in the Jubilee Hills Assembly Constituency has been resolved following sustained efforts and leadership of Hon’ble Minister for Minority Welfare Mohammed Azharuddin.

The matter was settled during a crucial review meeting held at the Telangana Secretariat, chaired by Minister Azharuddin. The meeting was also attended by Hon’ble Minister for Revenue, Housing and Information & Public Relations Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Jubilee Hills MLA Naveen Yadav, TIMRIS Chairman Faheem Quraishi, senior government officials, and representatives of cemetery committees from Erragadda, Borabanda and Shaikpet.

During the meeting, Minister Mohammed Azharuddin clearly presented the difficulties faced by minority communities, particularly regarding burial grounds. Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy stated that government land is a public asset and reiterated the policy of zero tolerance towards encroachments.

It was decided that suitable land for the cemetery would be provided through strong coordination between the Revenue Department, Defence Department and the Waqf Board. If required, the option of land exchange will also be implemented to ensure a permanent solution.

This firm decision by the Congress government underlines that minority welfare is not merely a promise but a clear priority. Representatives of the cemetery committees expressed their gratitude to Minister Mohammed Azharuddin, stating that his leadership and consistent follow-up were key factors in resolving the long-standing issue
