Hyderabad, 16th December 2024 – (Patriotic Views): BRS MLC Kavitha strongly criticized the Congress-led government for its failure to establish BC Welfare Schools since coming to power. She highlighted that under the leadership of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), an average of 27 BC Gurukul schools were established annually, while the current Congress government has not set up even a single BC Welfare School.

Kavitha pointed out that during the united Andhra Pradesh period, the Congress government established only 19 BC Welfare Schools. In contrast, after the formation of Telangana, the BRS government achieved significant milestones, including the establishment of 275 BC schools, 31 BC degree colleges, and two specialized agricultural colleges for BC students over the last decade.

She further emphasized the BRS government’s efforts in BC welfare, such as releasing Rs. 14,000 crores for fee reimbursement benefiting BC students. Additionally, she noted that Rs. 450 crores were spent to support the foreign education of 2,230 BC students under the BRS regime.

Kavitha questioned the Congress government on its failure to secure funds for backward districts and its inaction regarding the establishment of Navodaya schools in every district. Despite Congress leaders like Revanth Reddy visiting Delhi multiple times, Kavitha criticized the lack of tangible outcomes.

Expressing her disappointment, Kavitha stated, “The Congress government has failed to establish new BC Gurukul schools or provide incentives for foreign education. While they have announced changes to the Gurukul curriculum, there has been no implementation so far, and there is no clarity on when it will begin.”

In conclusion, BRS MLC Kavitha raised serious concerns about the Congress government’s neglect of BC welfare and underscored the urgent need for proactive measures to address educational issues in the state.
