Speaking at a media conference held in Hyderabad, State Minister Ponnam Prabhakar launched a sharp attack on the BJP. Rajya Sabha member Anil Kumar Yadav, MLAs Makan Singh Raj Thakur, Sri Ganesh, K.K. Mahender Reddy, and former Mayor Bonthu Ram Mohan were also present.

Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said that instead of addressing people’s real issues, the BJP uses the name of God merely for votes and drags religion into politics. He recalled that during the recent padayatra in Gangadhar, PCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud exposed evidence of large-scale vote rigging across the country. Similarly, suspicion has been raised that several BJP MPs in Telangana also won using fake votes.

He challenged the BJP, saying if it really has the courage, it should write to the Election Commission and demand a state-wide verification of votes. He reminded that recently in Karimnagar, 40 fake votes were discovered in a single house, yet the BJP has remained silent.

Ponnam Prabhakar further alleged that while the BJP indulges in religious politics, it simultaneously obstructs reservations for backward classes. The Telangana government has enacted a law to provide 42% reservations to weaker sections to ensure justice, but BJP is trying to block it under the guise of religion.

He questioned BJP leaders: “If you truly want to support the weaker sections, why don’t you speak in favor of 42% reservations?” He said the BJP has no agenda for solving real public issues such as water supply, metro rail expansion, or employment for the youth.

The Minister made it clear that the BJP does nothing beyond vote-bank politics, ignoring the genuine problems of the people. He appealed to the public to reject the BJP’s false promises and religious politics once and for all.
