Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy has strongly criticized the Congress government in Telangana for its alleged plan to appoint Mohammed Azharuddin as a minister while the Model Code of Conduct is still in force for the Jubilee Hills by-election.

Addressing the media at the BJP Telangana headquarters, Kishan Reddy said this decision exposes the Congress party’s “vote-bank appeasement politics” and disregard for constitutional norms.

“For 22 months, the Congress government did not appoint even one minister from the minority community. Now, suddenly, just before the election, they remembered minorities — not out of concern, but purely for electoral benefit,” Reddy remarked.
