Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka addressed a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan, alleging that the BJP is conspiring to prevent Mohammad Azharuddin from being inducted into the Telangana Cabinet.

Bhatti said that Mohammad Azharuddin, who captained the Indian cricket team for several years, brought immense pride to the nation through his achievements and remains a symbol of India’s excellence in sports.
“Despite his remarkable service to the country, the BJP is deliberately obstructing his induction into the State Cabinet,” he said.

The Deputy CM accused the BJP and BRS of working hand-in-glove in this conspiracy.
“Even BRS leader K. Kavitha has openly admitted to the BJP-BRS nexus. It was only with BRS’s covert support that the BJP managed to win eight seats in Telangana during the previous Lok Sabha elections,” he revealed.

Bhatti further stated that the BJP has no chance of winning in Jubilee Hills, which is why the party intentionally fielded a weak candidate at the last minute — a move meant to indirectly benefit the BRS.
“Minorities in Jubilee Hills have always rejected the BJP. To block Azharuddin’s ministerial berth and help the BRS, the BJP is now pressuring authorities not to allow his swearing-in,” he said.

He added that information suggests the BJP is trying to influence the Governor to stop Azharuddin’s oath-taking ceremony.
“However, I firmly believe the Governor is a dignified constitutional authority and will not succumb to political pressure,” Bhatti said.

He pointed out that the BJP’s complaint to the Election Commission is baseless, citing its own hypocrisy.
“In Rajasthan, the BJP inducted by-election candidate Surendra Pal Singh into the State Cabinet on December 30, just 20 days before the by-election in Sri Karanpur constituency, Sri Ganganagar district. This exposes the BJP’s double standards,” he noted.

Bhatti Vikramarka accused the BJP of communal prejudice, saying,
“It is evident that the BJP is blocking Azharuddin’s swearing-in purely because he belongs to a minority community. Minorities must recognize this BJP-BRS conspiracy.”

Clarifying the legal position, Bhatti said,
“The by-election applies only to the Jubilee Hills constituency, while the swearing-in is happening outside that area. Moreover, Azharuddin is already an MLC, not a by-election candidate.”

He reiterated that the Congress Party is committed to ensuring representation and inclusion of all communities, condemning any attempt to oppose this principle.
“No matter how many conspiracies are hatched, the Congress stands united in its ideology of equality and representation for all,” Bhatti declared.

Addressing the recent cyclone situation, the Deputy CM said that the Telangana government had acted with full preparedness.
“We received alerts 46 hours in advance and worked continuously under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. The Chief Secretary, Cabinet Ministers, and the entire administration coordinated effectively to minimize loss of life and property,” he explained.

He assured that the government would assess all damages and provide full relief to affected families, stating that the response to the cyclone will be handled with utmost humanitarian concern and sensitivity.
