Bengaluru:-08/04/2026
Mohammed Azharuddin, Hon’ble Minister for Minorities Welfare & Public Enterprises, visited the Karnataka State Bioenergy Development Board on Wednesday and held a productive meeting with Chairman S. E. Sudheendra and his team to discuss the evolving biofuel scenario in Karnataka.

The meeting focused on strengthening sustainable energy initiatives and exploring pathways toward a carbon-neutral future. Impressed by Karnataka’s progress in the bioenergy sector, Azharuddin invited the Chairman and his team to Telangana for further discussions with the state leadership, including the Chief Minister and Energy Minister, to enhance inter-state collaboration.

During the interaction, Sudheendra highlighted that senior leader Mallikarjun Kharge has a strong vision for advancing bioenergy and sustainable development across India.

Addressing the gathering, Azharuddin emphasized that bioenergy is not merely an alternative fuel but a transformative tool for rural empowerment, increased farmer income, and environmental sustainability. He noted that India holds vast potential in the biofuel sector and stressed the importance of coordinated efforts between states to accelerate innovation and implementation.

He further stated that Telangana is keen to adopt progressive models like Karnataka’s and collaborate on technology sharing, investments, and policy alignment.

“Our vision is clear — to build a greener, self-reliant India where clean energy drives both economic growth and social development,” the Minister said.
